Why I'm Going

Lots of reasons (in no particular order):

1. Because the need for help in the Gulf Coast region is painfully obvious, and painfully slow. Over 18 months after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, a third of a million people in the New Orleans metro area have not returned. Half the homes in New Orleans do not have electricity.

2. Because Judge Jay C. Zainey (E.D. La.) said there was work that law students could do to help residents secure clear title or succession to their homes.

3. Because I could help.

4. Because it is a privilege to be in a position to be able to help.

5. “Volunteer — not so you can build your resume, but so you can build yourself.”
